Black cloth covered boards with gilt titling to spine and two gilt crests on the front cover - one used by the Hessian Grand Ducal Family, and the other: Arms borne by David, Marquess of Milford Haven. Gold dust jacket with the same crests depicted in colour on the front and back. Faint bumping to spine ends and corners. Top edge coloured grey. Unused bookplate to front end paper. Slight rubbing to jacket edges. Clipped. Clean, clear copy; 415 pages including index, sources, a full, tipped-in Hessian family tree, and numerous black and white photographs.
