During the Anglo-Boer war he was an intermediary between Holland and the Republic, and was responsible for pro-Boer propaganda in Europe and elsewhere. Volume 1: the boards are edge worn, cocked and marked. They have tanning, marks. They are heroically intact. The contents have evidence of much evidence of avid use throughout. They are clean, clear, certain, a little worn, foxed here and there, placid. Vol 2. The contents have some occasional foxing, but by far they are clean, clear, confident, certain, competent, benign. Extremities a little rubbed; ownership inscription to front pastedown in each case; scattered, moderate foxing. Very good condition. Dutch text. (SABIB 3, p. 112) "He completed the manuscript of Het insluiten van de Boeren-republieken in 1914 but owing to the war this work was only published in 1919. It was also brought out in English and described the history of the relations between the Transvaal Republic and Britain up to 1895. ...
