First Edition/First Printing with "D36" code on page 239 in the first issue dust jacket with the $3.95 price intact and the 1062 code at bottom of front flap. A near fine book in a very good dust jacket. An outstanding copy of this Hugo Award winning novel which is considered one of the best Science Fiction novels of the 20th century and a classic of speculative fiction. This near fine book is clean, bright, and tight with a crisp binding, bright lettering to the spine, and only a very light foxing to the page edges; light soiling to the top exterior text block and the pastedowns, else fine. Housed in a very good dust jacket that would grade near fine to fine save for a 2 1/2" closed tear that extends from the bottom spine end flap across the back panel (tear is unobtrusive to the eye, see scans) and some very light chipping to the bottom spine end. Overall, an exceptional copy of this book getting very scarce in collectible condition; not remaindered, not price clipped, not ex-library; in archival protection.

New York: G.P. Putnam & Sons, 1962. Book Club (BCE/BOMC) . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some 20 years earlier the United States lost a war--and is now occupied jointly by Nazi Germany and Japan. This harrowing, Hugo Award-winning novel is the work that established Philip K. Dick as an innovator in science fiction while breaking the barrier between science fiction and the serious novel of ideas. In it Dick offers a haunting vision of history as a nightmare from which it may just be possible to awake. --GPP. This book is tight, clean and unmarked. This collectible is priced clipped and has minor rubbing at corners of DJand a closed tear at top edge of front panel. The DJ overall has maintained it's vibrant color.
