Subtitled: "A review of outstanding incidents in Kaffirland and British Kaffraria leading up to the rise of King William's Town, Keiskama Hoek, and East London, with special reference to the history and situation of Fort Stokes--Illustrated with maps and road routes." 6 1/2" x 8 5/8", 67 pages (including index, maps, photos and illustrations), dust jacket included. Overall Book is VERY GOOD PLUS. Pages = VERY GOOD: former library book with accoutrements thereof, former pricing on front map fep, inscription by descendant of an original regiment member opposite second title page, SIGNED BY AUTHOR on title page, no internal marks, tight, square, clear. Cover (grey boards with quarter bound red cloth, particulars and battle symbol in gold gilt) = NEAR FINE: tape from mylar cover top and bottom of front and back, else AS NEW. ORIGINAL DUST JACKET (brown glossy paper with black regimental etching on light tan background, particulars in black) = NEAR FINE: library sticker on AS NEW JACKET with mylar overwrap. Noted appraiser JAMES BEATTIE has assigned a value of $115.00.
