First editions. 128pp. Engraved half title, engraved frontispiece plate, 50 further engraved plates; Engraved half title, engraved frontispiece plate, 47 further engraved plates, 104pp. The 99 plates are by Turner, Stanfield, Prout, Cattermole, Roberts and Allom. Contemporary half maroon morocco, spines in six compartments with raised bands, gilt double rule emphasis and gilt lettering. Marbled boards. Top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed. Silk bookmarks. Some variable spotting/foxing. A very attractive set.

Provenance: Armorial book plate of Fothergill to fep of each volume.
