Texts tight, clean & intact. Vol. #1, 422 pp. , has an illustrated fold out "Plan De La Salle", Vol. #2, 408pp. French text. The author, a French general and historian, works include: Histoire de Napoleon et de la Grande Armee pendant l'anee 1812, 1824; Histoire de Russie et de Pierre le Grand, 1829. Provenance note: Heraldic book plate inside front cover, "AFC" initials beneath crown. Front hinges of both volumes cracked with covers firmly attached. Spine leather with delicate network of fine cracks. France; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 1230 pages .
