In the first part of 1778, King Louis XVI of France signed the Treaty of Alliance which promised military support between France and the United States against Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War. Benjamin Franklin ordered and drew the treaty for the French government to sign. This book tells of the conversations between Franklin and French naval officers.
