An amusing cocktail recipe book with eight richly hand-coloured napkins tipped in. Produced during Prohibition (with "non-alcoholic" wryly inserted after every alcoholic ingredient). "Dedicated to serious drinkers everywhere" with history and recipes for the following cocktails: Manhattan, Blue Blazer, Deadwood Duck, Rip Van Winkle Sleeper, Belmont Park, Alabama, Barbary Coast, New Orleans Drip. An extremely attractive and rare piece of Prohibition Americana.

Tan paper wraps, printed in black. Circular blind stamp of Bibliotheque de Deep sea salvage on the title page. Front cover has 'Editor of the Herald' written in ink across the top. Edges rubbed and bumped with some loss to the bottom of the spine. Corners creased and chipped a little but overall a very good example of this scarce Civil War time publication. Only one copy located on Worldcat, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Some creasing to the corners and minor loss to the paper on the bottom of the spines but overall a very good copy and uncommon in the original paper wraps.

Board edges and turn-ins with gilt decorative roll. All edges gilt. Yellow coated endpapers.
