London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Bown, And Green; The Author; And J Taylor, 1830. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Illustrated By A Series of Engravings of Views, Elevations, Plans and Details of That Edifice With Biographical Anecdotes of Eminent Persons Connected With the Establishment. 4to (29cm x 23cm). In contemporary black silk moire covered boards. x, [ix, printed list of subscribers], 74, 75-78, pub's ads, blank. 12 b&w plates, inc two engraved frontispieces, a plan of the cathedral, elevations and illustrations, some missing their tissue guards but all present, one of them loose, some light foxing to a few of the plates, more so to prelims. Bumped to tips, some marks to boards, wear to head and tail of spine, the second engraved frontis. slightly loose. Still a decent, sound copy with a firm binding bar some looseness around prelims after the flyleaf. Previous owner's small bookplate to front pastedown. Britton, perhaps less heralded now, nonetheless was a shining star of C19th topography, essentially creating the genre of popular topography.

Disbound slim pamphlet in very good condition, some fraying around spine, some turning to a few page corners at bottom, but a clean, firm copy with sound binding. Hulme, Keri: The Bone People. Louisiana State University Press, A tale of New Zealand. Stated United States First Edition, 1985. 450 pages, indexed. WINNER OF THE PEGASUS PRIZE FOR LITERATURE AND THE BOOKER PRIZE. Used. Very Good/Very Good unclipped original $17.95 dust jacket. Summary: "The Bone People, first published in 1984 by Spiral, New Zealand. About this book: The Bone People is an unusual story of love. It is unusual in the telling, the subject matter, and the form of love that the story depicts. This is in no way a romance; it is filled with violence, fear, and twisted emotions. At the story's core, however, are three people who struggle very hard to figure out what love is and how to find it. Hulme won New Zealand's Pegasus Prize for Literature (1984) for The Bone People. Then the book went on to win the prestigious Booker Prize (1985).
