London: Bell and Daldy, 1870. Third Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 256 pages, plus 24. 72 colored plates, plus two black and white plates. Blind stamped burgundy cloth, with gilt stamped butterflies on top cover, and lettering and decoration on spine. Spine is a little faded, and covers are rubbed and show a little wear at spine ends and corners. First plate, opposite title page, is torn out, though laid in place. Volume remains tight and other contents are clean and intact. All plates are accounted for and in very good condition.

London: John C. Nimmo. Bound in blue cloth with two gilt butterrflies and plant motif to front board, this 1890 6th Edition is VG. Book has been rebacked but without title lettering. V111/184pp with 72 hand-coloured plates plus double page illustration of apparatus required for collecting and displaying. Both sides of second front endpaper are foxed, as is blank verso of frontis illustration. Second front endpaper carries an inscription, and rear second endpaper also foxed both sides. Board corners are sightly rubbed and rebacked spine has faded unevenly. Page 23 has horizontal 6 inch closed tear. Some faults but internally VG . Very Good. Hardback. Sixth Edition. 1890.
