A reprint of the 1940 edition done especially by Odysseus Editions, Inc. for the National Rifle Assoc.Hard cover book bound in full red leather w/ raised bands on the spine & all edges in gold gilt. Gold gilt decorations and title stamping to front & rear covers & spine. In near fine condition. The only flaw is a small crease in the leather of the head of the spine.

Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Tape marks to endpapers and pastedowns. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Paper residue to rear board. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Tape to flaps. Paper stuck to rear panel with water staining. Light tanning to spine and edges. Paper worn away to rear flap.
