Red cloth over boards, covers with single gilt rule design; front covers with gilt Clan MacAulay device; spines with gilt arabesque and floral designs; top edges gilt; tissue-guarded frontispieces; 2-color title pages; untrimmed fore and tail edges. Bright, clean covers and spines; vols 1 + 2 very faintly show discoloration at front cover lower inside corners from damp exposure; all vols tightly bound; vols 1 + 2 show faint, small area of color stain at end paper lower inside corners; all vols have owner book plate 'George Raymond Bunker' on front pastedowns; all vols are Fine condition interiors - many leaves unopened in each vol at fore edge, indicating vols were never read. A very attractive set. From the collection of Ellsworth Bunker (U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, Italy, India, South Vietnam, Organization of American States, and twice recipient of U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom).
