London: William Allason, 1818. Hume's History of England in 10 volumes. Together with Smollett's continuation in 6 volumes. Therefore complete in 16 volumes. Bound in full leather bindings. Gilded spines. Marbled edges and end papers. Printed on quality paper. Engraved frontis. These take 22.5 inches of shelf space. These measure 8.5 inches tall. In good condition externally, as shown. Very good internally. Printed on quality paper that is still very fresh and bright. There is some foxing, more prevalent upfront. There is some external wear, rubs, chipping labels, significant spine chips, all as shown. The hinges are all attached and held firmly by the underlying cords, although there is significant starting. There is no writing. These display beautifully. This set would make an excellent gift and/or addition to any fine library.
