J S Newsome & Son, Batley, 1939. Complete Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Clean light blue covers with black lettering and simple decoration, library reference number in white at base of the spine, spine-ends are lightly bumped. Sound binding although paper is cracked over rear inner hinge. Clean pages. Clean black and white frontis to each section, also black and white plates and crisp intact fold-out map at rear. All four sections show their initial publication date on the title-page. The Supplement deals mainly with various local families; Appendix (I) has additional information about the Church, Accounts, families and John Wesley's visits to Pocklington; Appendix II information about All Saints' Church, various individuals, various artefacts, and various lists. xv, 193, v, 57, v, 37, [5], v, 38. Stamps for Halifax Antiquarian Society and "Withdrawn" stamp on front end-papers and prelims. Pages of main text and plates (including reverse of plates) are free from stamps.
