Edinburgh and London: William Blackwood & Sons Ltd. Best-known for fairy tales, Andrew Lang also wrote history in a literary style with a keen attention to detail. Various editions have been "married" to make this complete navy cloth set. All have gilt lettering and decoration on the spine, and Volume 4 also has gilt decoration on the cover. Volume 1 is the 5th Edition of 1929 (509 pp.). Volume 2 is the 3rd Edition of 1924 (575 pp.). Volume 3 is the 2nd Edition of 1909 (424 pp.). Volume 4 is dated 1907 with no edition stated - could be a first (621 pp.). Volumes 1-3 are Very Good, with slight rubbing to the tops and bottoms of the spines, and solid hinges. Volume 4 has a 1/2" tear at the top of the spine, and both hinges are cracked. These books are very heavy - please expect a request for extra shipping to cover postage and insurance.
