A small book measuring 5 3/4 inches tall by almost 3 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original leather-covered wooden boards. The binding is quite worn and stained. Chipping at the spine ends. The leather is chipped and is darkened on the rear cover (from having been damped) and is peeling up where it is chipped, revealing the wooden board beneath. The front pastedown is torn away, revealing the front wooden board. Lacks the clasp. Several signatures a bit sprung. There is a chip at the fore edge of the title page, affecting some of the lettering. The text is toned and stained. Bottom edge torn away from the bottom of the final leaf, but there does not appear to be text missing. Worldcat also notes 252 pages. Printed in "Old German" type. A scarce 18th century American Psalter written in German.

With large folding map of Ireland. Hardcover bound in contemporary or early 3/4 leather with marbled paper-covered boards. The binding shows heavy wear. The front board is detached; the rear board is holding by the cords. The leather on the front and rear boards is chipped away at the hinges and the binding generally appears worn and heavily rubbed. The leather on the spine is a bit darkened, suggesting it having been damped, and also has a couple of chips missing. Dual black leather labels on the spine. Likely an ex-library copy; a bookplate has been removed from the front pastedown. The paper of the text shows some waviness, also suggesting having been damped, although there are no tide-marks in the paper. Text is untrimmed. Hardcover bound in white quarter cloth with grey cloth covered boards. The binding is quite worn and stained but sound. Old glass rings and stains on the front cover, especially at the fore edge. The white cloth spine is foxed and the spine is toned and the spine gilt a bit dulled. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Signed on the back side of the frontis by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.

Hardcover bound in early full leather with gilt rolls on the edges of the covers and some gilt designs and a burgundy leather label on the spine. The binding is worn but sound. A small paper label is affixed near the foot of the spine. Front hinge starting. The binding is a bit mottled, as if it were covered in some glossy treatment which is partly rubbed away. Early library bookplate on the front pastedown is crudely torn away, exposing some board beneath. An early price is written upside-down on the rear pastedown. Endpapers foxed; text is toned. Author's name is written in pencil on the title page. Fitz-Greene Halleck (1790-1867) was a popular poet in the early 19th century and was considered the "American Byron." Hardcover bound in navy blue cloth. Light to moderate rubbing and wear to the binding. Small white blemish at the top edge of the front cover. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. The text is a little toned. There is underling to a line on page viii, but otherwise the text appears clean. Complete with the portrait frontis and the folding map just before page 5. The Editor's Notes at the beginning states that 300 copies were published. Originally published in 1842

London: Philip Lee Warner, Publisher to the Medici, 1909. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. 4to. Unpaginated. Hardcover bound in quarter tan cloth with grey paper-covered boards and the remains of the original grey dust jacket. Light to moderate wear to the binding. The boards show some browning and foxing, likely from the remains of the dust jacket. The front and rear panels and turn-ins of the jacket remain. The front panel of the jacket has a couple of glass rings as well as a 3 1/2inch tear on the fore edge near the bottom corner. This tear has some old and failed tape repairs and a large accompanying crease. There is also a paper label on the front panel of the jacket from the Medici Society noting this Cloth binding version originally cost 2 Pounds, 12 Shillings, 6 d. The binding is rubbed, and the boards show some normal scuffs. Raised bands on the spine. Prior owner's signature "T. Smith / 1788" on the front flyleaf in a fine hand. There is some foxing to the text. Some offsetting to the paper on the pages opposite the engravings. This volume is has 14 of 15 plates, LACKING the plate of Hatfield House opposite Pg. 137. This plate also lacks the leaf for pages 138-139, so two pages of text are missing. This volume runs from January to June, 1786 and contains the supplement and the Index at the rear.

Signed "Bound by Riviere" in type on the verso of the front flyleaves. The cloth from the original bindings is pasted onto the rear flyleaves of each volume. Marbled endpapers. The bindings are rubbed, especially at the hinges, and the headcaps of the spines have some brief chipping. There is a larger chip at the headcap of the spine to Volume I. A sound set with some light foxing to the text. Frontis pieces by George Cruikshank. Rare.

Includes a 30-page publisher's catalog (erratically paginated) at the rear. Hardcover bound in full leather. The binding shows some old wear and cover stains but is quite sound. Sturdy hinges. Early owner's light pencil inscription on the front flyleaf and a later doctor's inscription on the front pastedown. The text block is sound, and the text is foxed, sometimes quite heavily. Still, a sturdy copy of a scarce work and in the original binding. From a Mocksville (Davie County), North Carolina 19th century doctor's collection.

Hardcover bound in original blue cloth with titles in gilt. The binding shows heavy wear. The front cover is spotted, and there is damping on the top edge and top of the spine. Top edge of the boards are abraded, and the top edge of the text block is heavily stained. Spine dulled and corners bumped. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Two early owners' signatures on the front flyleaf appear to read "E. F. Gooding / To C. C. Elliott / Nov. 1918." There is brown staining along the top edge of the text block throughout. Text is toned. There is a folding map of Yellowstone in the pocket at the rear. The map has a 6 inch tear along a crease near the top left of the map.
