Raleigh: Edwards & Broughton Printing Company, 1907. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Octavos. 880 & 875 pages. Each volume indexed. Hardcovers bound in burgundy cloth. The bindings show rubbing and wear, and the corners are bumped. Interior hinges are generally sound. Some dust staining on the top edges. In Volume I, there is a little spitting to the cloth at the bottom of the front hinge. Volume II is fairly fresh and clean. The binding shows light wear. The title page is splitting at the gutter, so it is a little loose. Otherwise a sound set with clean text. This is one of the earlier and most exhaustive histories of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Each volume is illustrated, showing portraits of important persons connected with the history of the University as well as photos of the early buildings. Volume I is dated 1907, and Volume II is dated 1912.
