Lacking the printing history on title verso to help them circumvent the import restrictions and US copyright laws. This book features the original dustjacket with the Mountains and Dragon in Flight design by the author. Contains the full color frontispiece "The Hill: Hobbiton-across-the Water", as well as the original line drawings by Tolkien. Condition: In fair to good condition only: Book has small neat gift inscription, dated 1958, along outer edge of front pastdown map in red ink or pencil, noticeable old damp stain bottom outer text book, couple stains to page edges/boards but interior fresh and tidy with nice plates/end paper maps. Jackets rough but mostly complete, staining and offsetting mostly to verso/numerous short tears/chips/loss to corners/both spine top & bottom.
