Striking red full leather Cedric Chivers binding. Some rubbing to edges, a few thin marks to covers, spine a bit discoloured. Inscription on front endpaper of first and last volume.
Originally established in Bath in 1878, Cedric Chivers became known as one of the best British bookbinders. For over 130 years the business supplied high-quality bookbinding but has recently been taken over by another old British bookbinder, Riley, Dunn and Wilson. Foreword by the Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of London.
