Original contemporary black calf boards, Oxford binding, front board detached, loss to top of spine, nick and minor loss to rear of spine, rubbed and worn, calf highly polished. Bears the contemporary bookplate of "DB, dealer in curious books, antiquities and natural productions". Title page red-ruled, as are all subsequent pages. all edges gilt. Prelims and first 10 pages detahing, rubbed to edges and with some creasing and wear closed tears. Thereafter, page block solid and clean. Second title page present, clean and also dated 1697. Rear leaves missing after Revelation Chaper 21. This is an interesting volume - a scarce 17th Century bible. 10 inches by 8 inches by 4 inches. 25.4cm x 21cm x 10cm. An interesting early bible in need of restoration. Family birth and death notes start in 1711 with Jemima Martha MacKay. A page of family births and deaths. An interesting item.
