London: George G. Harrap & Company. Very Good in Good+ dust jacket. 1933. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Text is clean. Previous owner name stamped in black ink and written in pencil on front free endpaper. Cover shows wear, rubbing at corners. Dust jacket (Which folds out to present full color world map) has been laminated. Previous to lamination, DJ was chipped and had previous owner marks on front panel. States First Published 1933. Belonged to Dr. Richard D. Loewenberg. ; Previous owner Richard Detlev Loewenberg (1911-1954) a German-Jewish psychiatrist who emigrated to California. Practiced in San Francisco and later in Kern County. After his death, he gained some notariety as the Psychiatrist who had put together the 1951 psychological profile of Kenneth Parnell as part the the legal proceedings surrounding Parnell's abduction and abuse of an 8 year old Bakersfield boy. Loewenberg interviewed Parnell several times over a 6 year period, starting 4 years before the 1951 abduction. Parnell is best known as the kidnapper of Steven Stayner. ; Signed by Notable Personage, Unrelated .

Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge-wear with chips, tears and creasing. Tape repairs to reverse.
