Chicago:: Black Cat Press,, 1961. Very Good. SECOND EDITION, LIMITED to 300 copies. Miniature Book. 2 1/2 x 1 5/8 inches. (27) pp. Color headpiece, tailpieces, text presented in French-fold format; text clean, unmarked, pages toned. Gilt-stamped navy leather boards; binding square and tight, all edges toned, very light shelf wear to covers. Mel Kavin's copy. Very Good. Printed with Modern Roman type faces, printed on Berestoke handmade paper that was purchased in 1935, "a few copies" bound in full leather [this being one of those] by Monastery Hill Bindery, Chicago, IL. Illustrations by Calvin Brazelton commissioned for this book. An English translation [commissioned by Forgue] from the original German about the pitfalls and rewards of lending one's books to friends. Eugenie Schwarzwald was an Austrian philanthropist, writer, and pedagogue, and one of the most lettered women of her time. Forgue originally printed this text in 1939 for a small 12mo edition in wrappers. REFERENCE: Bradbury, 20th-Century U.S. Miniature Books, No. 2643.
