Hardcover in red cloth with red top edge. Illustration pasted to front cover. Illustrated endpapers show children watching a swan in a pond. Book is tight and clean. Binding is sound, no cracking to hinges. Front cover illustrations is has some scratches and missing some flecks of the illustration and is unmarked. Age toning to pages. 182 pages First printing (last title listed both in front of the book and the advertisement at the back of the book lists only to #13.) The Stratemeyer syndicate series is written for the youngest readers - little girls between 4 and 8. Illustrated by Marie Schubert with a glossy frontispiece and 4 inserted plates and blue and white illustrated endpapers. Bound in red cloth with a full-color illustration pasted on the front cover. 182 pp, 6 pages advertisement at the end. A very collectible copy. AB71
