Accompanied by Seuss's distinctive and humorous characters, this simple introduction to phonics was quite innovative in the 1960s - Ruth Strang, a professor at the University of Arizona College of Education, praises the title as "new in concept and content" on the rear of its dust jacket. A charming and timeless reading tool. 9.25'' x 6.5''. Original color pictorial boards. Original unclipped (195/195) color pictorial dust jacket (for price ref. Younger). Color pictorial endleaves with creatures and simple words. Illustrated in color. 64 pages. Dust jacket with edgewear, a couple tiny chips; crack to rear joint, but sound. Binding with light shelfwear, a few small spots of toning. Light toning to turn-ins; front hinge cracked but sound. Bright.

Synopsis

Hop on Pop is a 1963 children's picture book by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel). It was published as part of the Random House Beginner Books series, and is subtitled "The Simplest Seuss for Youngest Use". It contains several short poems about a variety of characters, and is designed to introduce basic phonics concepts to children.
