"A Cook book for the wife who wants to be a guest as well as the hostess" From jacket: "Two Virginia housewives (daydreamed) about candlelight and chilled wines and 10 or 12 favored couples sitting down to a "Soup-to-nuts" menu of gourmet recipes like Peking Abalone Soup and Nut Torte with Whipped Cream." From page v: "This book contains 35 planned menus with recipes and a suggested schedule for preparing a dinner. They vary from Chinese, Korean, Japanese to French, Italian and New England dinners. The recipes range from a simple lasagna to the relatively complicated Lobster St. Jacques." Recipes include: Biscuit Tortoni; Japanese Soup with Shrimp Balls; Hershey Chocolate Cake; Peking Duck, Mushroom Chicken; Wilted Spinach Salad; Jellied Madrilene with Caviar and Sour Cream; Mr. Husson's Chocolate Pots; Meringues with Ice Cream and Toasted Almonds; Asparagus with Sour Cream; Indian Beans; Ladyfinger Mold; Shrimp Wun Tun Soup*; Green Beans Amandine*; Hawaiian Pineapple Nut Cake; West Indies Fillets de Sole; Strawberries Jamaica; Mushroom Consomme; Cold Seafood Platter; Cucumber Stuffed with Crabmeat; Chocolate Roll; Italian Veal Roast; Italian No-Bake Cake, more.
