New Century Press Pty. Ltd, Sydney, 1947. Reprint. Hardcover. Poor Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Pixie O'Harris, And A Few Drawings by the Author. Illustrated endpapers, both different, front endpaper: – showing some robins in a snowy winter scene, rear paste-down: – showing a small illustration of the rainbow, the illustrations have been coloured in blue and black. The text is illustrated with blue and black, and black coloured drawings by Pixie O'Harris, or the author. Illustrated boards – same illustration as for title page, with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A series of short stories with a magic / fantasy theme. The book is showing age and use, and would benefit from sympathetic restoration. Bumping of the book corners with rubbing, and underline board visible, to the lower book edges. Fading to all book edges and to the rear panel. The rear spine gutter edge has completely come away and the underlying webbing is visible – please see photograph. Sunning of the back strip. A few stains to the front endpapers along with previous owner's name to the top edge of the front paste-down and original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower edge of the same page. Age toning of the text block edges and pages, and the text block itself is tight and no pages are loose. Occasional faint foxing spot can be seen to the pages.
