About This Item

The House on the Strandis a Gothic tale which Du Maurier wrote in 1969. In it, the central character, who lives a dreary married life, agrees to test a sinister drug that transports him back to 14th century Cornwall, where he becomes absorbed in the lives of people he meets there, to the extent that the two worlds he is living in start to merge.

In 1969, it was published in the UK by Gollancz and by Doubleday in the US. This is the first edition of the US printing.

No dust jacket. Plain beige boards with maps of Cornwall instead of endpapers.

The pages are all creamy white and clear. It is completely free of marks of any kind. Pristine condition.

Note: If you are outside of North America, the quoted shipping price is for surface mail without tracking. For other options, please contact me.
