London, printed for Francis Grove and are to be sold by Martha Harrison at the signe of the Lambe at the East end of St. Paules Church, 1655.. Also, exceeding necessary and profitable for all such as travell by Sea and come into uninhabited places: Especially, all those that have any thing to doe with New Plantations. SECOND EDITION, 1655. Small 8vo, approximately 150 x 85 mm, 5½ x 3½ inches, woodcut frontispiece, 22 woodcut text illustrations of varying sizes, decorated initials, pages: [16], 1-285, some misnumbering but catch words correct, lacks the last blank endpaper which is in the collation, ends on T7, rebound in full panelled calf, maroon gilt lettered label, gilt decoration to spine, blind decoration to covers, new endpapers. Pale offset from frontispiece and woodcut illustrations to text, tip of 3 corners torn with slight loss, nowhere near text, page 271 in the "Art of Fowling"has margin torn with loss, affecting the first few words to 7 lines of text (see image), 2 slim pieces of old paper with the missing words on lossley laid in, last page has small repair to blank side, last 2 pages have some small brown spots to margins, some pale age-browning throughout, 2 margins have a little old ink scribble, not affecting text, occasional small nick to margins, otherwise a very good copy. The book also includes a never-before compiled offical records section and the names of the almost 2000 players who participated. First hand accounts of the games by former players and coaches, and loads of pictures. This is the scarce First Edition. 360 pages. Book is clean and tightly bound, with clean white unmarked pages. Dust jacket has one small chip at tip of front top corner, and some light general shelfwear, but has excellent vibrant color, and is a very attractive in a mylar sleeve.
