London: J.M. Dent, 1927. First Edition. Edmunds, Kay. First edition.
"As pioneers' children always are, we were both pretty well accustomed to looking after ourselves in all ordinary circumstances; in fact we would have laughed at anyone who said we could not look after ourselves in any circumstances. We were soon to find that we did not know as much as we had thought we did. In fact I think we were beginning to believe that already, for to know you are lost in the bush, miles away from anyone and hundreds of miles away from a town of any sort, is trying enough for men, let alone boys.
Even had we been men we would have known nothing about that part of the country, for up to this time no white foot had had ever trodden on it..." Octavo, original illustrated cloth, colour kangaroo frontispiece, 6 full page colour plates, numerous black & white vignettes throughout, a very good copy.
