Accounts of trench warfare in France in World War I, particulary the Battle of Vimy Ridge, in which four Canadian divisions of the Canada Corps defeated the Germans at a great cost. Written by Captain James Belton and Lt. E.G. (Ernest) Odell of #2 Platoon, 24th Canadian Division. Illustrated with 8 b/w photos. In red-orange cloth with gilt lettering. This copy SIGNED & INSCRIBED by Odell to former Governor of Texas, T.M. Campbell, and dated September 12, 1918. A very uncommon original, rare in a signed state. Good+/No Jacket. Firm binding, a few spots lightened by silverfish, couple of stray water drops on cover. Interior clean and unmarked. First edition, same date with (1) on last page of text. Item #: B8255.
