About This Item

Dublin: Dublin: Published by Marcus Moses, at his Piano-Forte, Harp, and Music warehouse, 4 & 5, Westmoreland Street., 1860. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo; iv, [150 hymns, not paginated], viii, [164 hymns], xii, [5]pp. In recent full brown cloth with gilt spine title, new endpapers, original yellow free endpapers bound in (the front free endpaper bearing a contemporary owners inscription), owners inscription and two old ink stamps to first title page, occasional very light spots and browning, overall a clean and attractive copy complete with half title specifying this to be "Sequel to Weyman's Melodia Sacra - Hymns and Anthems - Bass". With bass clef musical notation for every hymn. This edition bears no date but its paper, typeface and inscriptions put it approximately between 1850 and 1860, and certainly no later than 1871.

About Lyppard Books

Lyppard Books was established in Worcester, UK, in 2012, adopting the unusual name from Lyppard Grange, once a farm attached to the monastery of Worcester's ancient cathedral. We maintain a small and select stock of English and Continental antiquarian titles from the dawn of western printing to the 19th century, and aim to offer original, early examples of scarce and sought-after texts.
