London: Rich & Cowan, 1938. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. Octavo. 336pp. Illustrated with full-page color plates by Bip Pares, including pictorial endpapers and maps, including a folding map). Blue cloth printed in white. Binding has light wear at tips of spine and corners and white spine lettering is a bit flaked and dull, else a very good copy lacking the dust jacket. Inscribed by St. John Gogarty to Joseph P. Kennedy when he served as Ambassador to Great Britain: "To His Excellency Joseph Patrick Kennedy from Oliver St J Gogarty (introduced from times out of mind)." Although the inscription is undated, Joseph P. Kennedy served as Ambassador to Great Britain from 1938 until his resignation in November of 1940. Also with the small owner's stamp of rock critic, columnist, and book collector Ralph Gleason.
