Fleet Publishing, New York., 1965. First edition. Octavo. 192 pages. Three short novels on the theme of love gone bad, much of which is no doubt inspired by the author's own eight marriages. He is probably best known as a great jazz clarinettist and bandleader.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed by him on the front free endpaper: ''To Nanette - Chin up & never fear - Best wishes, Artie Shaw''. The recipient is the actress Nanette Newman who was married to the film director Bryan Forbes. Artie Shaw was co-founder of Artixo Productions, the American distributors for Forbes' 1964 film Seance on a Wet Afternoon in which Nanette Newman appeared.Very good indeed in very good indeed, slightly nicked and marked dustwrapper with a later price sticker on the front flap.
