Brochure with several color and black-and-white plates from Pailés’ 4th one-man show in New York City. “Isaac Pailes (1895–1978) was a [Jewish] French painter. Born in Russia, Pailes went to Paris at the age of 22. After years of struggle, he achieved success. His original training as a sculptor can be discerned in his work. The subject matter is largely limited to clowns, still lifes, and vistas of France. ” (Jewish Virtual Library, 2017) OCLC lists 2 copies worldwide (Metropolitan Mus Of Art, Concordia Univ Library) Very good condition.
