About This Item

Seoul, Korea: Seoul Museum Of Art, 2011. First Edition. First Printing.. Softcover. As New/No Dust Jacket, As Issued.. Seoul, Korea: Seoul Museum Of Art, 2011. Softcover. As New/None, As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 35 pages. Exhibition Catalog. Sequence of color photographs. The first and only edition. Published in a small and limited print run as a softcover original only. There is no ISBN. The Catalog is now rare. It is beautifully produced by the Seoul Museum of Art, with pictorial softcovers, text by Choi Jeong Ju, and stunning color photographs by Lim Hyoung Tae that are reproduced on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in Seoul, Korea to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is exemplary in every respect. Without DJ, as issued. Presents Lim Hyoung Tae's "I See: Photographs". Conceptual art photography at its most contemplative and sublime. He appears in every image, situating himself in Nature, a juxtaposition that alludes to his personal philosophy of "being-towards-death" as "being-returning-to-Nature" (the artist is deeply influenced by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, as indeed, many artists who are obsessed by death and dying are). The simplicity of the photographs belies their rich and complex layered-ness. Like all reflective artists, Lim Hyoung Tae's coolly detached style presents the Ordinary as being transformed and made Extraordinary through the intervention of art. Each image is part of a sequence that is individually and collectively titled "I See". The artist/photographer has also put together a CD-Rom of his work, which is laid-into the book. An absolute "must-have" title for Lim Hyoung Tae collectors. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. It comes with a CD-rom created by Lim Hyoung Tae that is very prominently and beautifully signed and annotated in black pen-marker in front by him. The annotation includes his personal contact information, and as such, cannot be given here to protect his privacy. As far as we know, this is the only copy (with CD-rom) of the Exhibition Catalog available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. A rare copy thus. 12 color plates, 1 CD-rom. One of the most brilliant artist/photographers of our time. A fine copy. .
