Half vellum with red, pebbled cloth sides; gilt tooling on spine, bound by the renown Florentine bookbinder Giulio Giannini (his ticket on rear pastedown). All edges red. Marbled endpapers. Previous owner's name and ''Florence 1890'' on flyleaf; light soiling/foxing on a few pages, else internally clean. [358] pages. A bound volume of Tennyson's Arthurian poems, including Idylls of the King, The Coming of Arthur, The Holy Grail, Pelleas and Ettarre, and The Passing of Arthur. Material published by Tauchnitz circa 1860-70, consisting of portions of The Poetical Works of Alfred Tennyson, Volumes I & VI [Tauchnitz volumes 501 & 1065]. Bound here without original title pages.
Synopsis
