Sonora: The Progressive Association, 1901. First edition. Oblong octavo. 93, [3, map key] pp. plus folding map of mineral map of Tuolumne County at rear. With photographic illustrations on nearly every page. Publisher's pictorial purple wrappers. Small 1910 owner's siganture on half title. Wrappers very lightly faded else an excellent copy. Almost entirely concerned with mining in the region. Each chapter is concerned with a particular group of mines in the county. For example in the section entitle Columbia we read of the Tuolumne County Water Company; Yankee Hill Gravel Mine; Star Mine; Berger Ranch; Densmore Group; Marble Point Section; Horseshoe Bend; Don Pedro's Bar; Marlowe Gravel Diggings; Goldwin Consolidated Quartz Mine. A history and guide to the mines of the county with a very useful keyed map at the rear.
