When a Russian satellite photographic expert discovers an unknown gold bed in one of the films his examining, he decides to defect and go in search of the gold himself. But the man he chooses as a partner wants the gold, and he is mean enough to take it. Modesty runs out of fuel flying over Africa, and sets down at a missionary hospital, where the slightly inept doctor puts her to work assisting him in the operating room. She learns that he had recently treated a badly tortured Russian who had escaped from his captives, but he died under the doctor’s care. Then one day she sees two white men beating the doctor, trying to discover if the Russian had given him the coordinates of the gold in his delirium. She takes them out, and they escape, but now their boss wants the doctor back, and his men want a return match with Modesty Blaise. And there is Willie falling 3000 feet from an airplane, and Modesty locked in the cage with a gorilla! This is another great adventure with Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin. E-013 .
