At a church meeting in 1807 at Whitefield's Tabernacle, Moorfields, the Chairman spoke of the prevailing poverty, distress and consequent suffering of the Lord's aged poor. At the next meeting it was resolved that an Instition, to be called " The Aged Pilgrims' Friend Society " should be formed for granting regular help to such aged and infirm persons. This book give the history of the first hundred years of this society.

Inscriptions to front pastedown and endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Moderate tanning to spine and edges. Book has a forward lean.

Robert Banks and Son, 1907. Furst edition hardback. The binding has some wear and the spine is fading, it is slightly shaken but all is well bound in. The browning endpapers have a library stamp. There is some light edge foxing throughout with the first and last few leaves more extensively affected.
