This is a semi-autobiographical account of the 1960 political party race in North Carolina where transplanted Yankee ran against Judge Ponticorn for a seat in the general assembly as a Republican of all things! Horatio Bunker changed his clothes, his car, and his church to blend in with the local populace and woke up the local Republican party putting them into power. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.

Hardcover with a white, blue and red dust jacket, now in mylar. Moderate wear to the jacket. SIGNED by the author on the front flyleaf. Facing the first page of text is a blank page with handwritten name pairs. One name is a character in the book, and the other name seems to be the real life person to whom the character is based on. The main character of Horatio Bunker is based on Cobb. Madison Promison is T. (Terry?) Sanford. Clyde Calhoun is Clyde B. Hoey (former NC Gov.). There are11 name pairs on this list. Newpaper clipping laid in loosely between the last to blank flyleaves has resulted in browning on those blank pages.
