New York: John Day Company, 1942. Book. Very good+ condition. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 173 pages of text. Original hardcover binding with minor shelfwear. The unclipped dustjacket is moderately darkened on the spine, with a few tiny chips, rubbing at the extremities, a few tears and creases, and minor to moderate soiling and discoloration; protected in archival mylar. Signed and inscribed by co-author G. R. Parkin in the year of publication, and dedicated to Theodore W. Schultz (1902-1998), winner of the 1979 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences jointly with W. A. Lewis. The inscription reads "To T. W. Schultz from Raleigh Parkin Sept: 1942." Includes six pieces of 3 inch by 5 inch notepaper upon which are written notes by Schultz. The text is clean and unmarked. First edition..
