Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean - small previous owner name is ink-stamped in upper corner of front fixed endpaper; "Contents" page is loose. Frontispiece photo of Rudyard Kipling with clean tissue guard, sixteen additional illustrations. 750 pages.
