Barrett, Eaton Stannard (1786–1820) poet, satirist. 'All the talents' is a political satire of the Whig coalition. Published parts, the later 'editions' were augmented by further dialogues. This is the first edition of the complete work.

This is a 17-Volume collection of works of Historical Fiction by Luise Mühlbach, a well-known German Author, who wrote most of her work in the 1860s and early 1870s. Her Books focus on several well-known German and European personalities including Frederick the Great, Joseph the Second, Empress Josephine, Goethe and Schiller, Napoleon, Marie Antoinette, King Henry and others. Her Books were translated into English by several different translators and published as a set by A.L. Fowle, Publisher, of New York in 1905. This book is a fictionalized account of the Credit Mobilier scandal, a real life story of corruption that involved Railroad construction contracts, and several US Congressmen. Uncommon, no copies of this first edition held by OCLC member libraries, and only one other copy listed online. Condition of the book is Good. The binding is sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked. The main condition issue is moderate wear to the boards, with some discoloration to the board cloth from old damp exposure (interior is not affected), and loss of cloth at the head and tail of the spine.Please message me with any questions.

Rare original poetry book with cloth covered boards, copyright 1880 by J. W. Shoemaker & Co. This edition published in 1906 by the Penn Publishing company, Philadelphia. From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
