London: Published by ther Author, 1827. 1st. Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. Very nice first edition (1827) of this classic work, nicely bound in red three-quarter leather and marbled paper. Raised and gilt spine with some wear, particularly the title, which is legible but worn. General rubbing otherwise and slight splitting to hinges of cover. Interior with small ex libris plate on front pastedown ep from previous owner. Penciled notes to front blank endpapers. Text and pages otherwise clean and intact. Supplement not present or included.
