[2] + pp. [291] - 345 + [1] blank. 8vo., sewn printed wrappers, paper spine, front cover bearing title and publication data, inside front cover being an advertisement for the pamphlet and announcing the publication elsewhere of the new edition of Malthus' Principles of Political Economy. The rear cover is blank. There is minor creasing to the bottom corner, and there is occasional neat graphite pencil underlining and margin markings/notes, on only a few pages. Very good overall. All five of Say's letters are included; the translator is not named, but is likely John Richter. See Kress C776 for the (subsequent?) book version, published the same year. Rare.

Bookplate of the Belles Lettres Society of Dickinson College on front fixed endpaper indicating that this was given to the college in 1891 by G. E. Mills, chair of the Book Committee. Embossed Dickinson College Library stamp on title page. Mary Paley Marshall (1850-1944) was part of the first class (of 5 women) at Cambridge's Newnham College in 1871. She taught economics at Newnham and was asked to write a book based on her lectures. Her husband, Alfred Marshall, also contributed to The Economics of Industry before publication. It was popular and reprinted many times. When his larger work The Principles of Economy first appeared in 1890, he opposed any further printings of The Economics of Industry, indicating that this was presumably the final printing. First edition in German, translated by the political economist Adolph Soetbeer [1814-1892]. This edition is more than a translation; it is an elaboration, with contradictions discarded or reconciled. It includes an appendix, an extensive bibliography, and statistical tables.
"As far as I have had time to examine it the translations seems extremely well executed: the sense appears to be very faithfully & clearly rendered. I only regret that your time & pains were not bestowed on the edition which is now about to go to press & which I have not only revised throughout but have entirely recast several important chapters; in particular the two most important, those on Property & the on the Futurity of the Labouring Classes" Mill to Soetbeer, March 18 1852, in Mineka, Later letters of John Stuart Mill, letter no.74

This translation is extremely rare, there is a total of 6 copies in public Libraries in Serbia (according to COBISS online register) and one copy in the National University Library of Ljubljana. There are no other copies known of this edition in any other European or western library.
As the publisher of the translation was an institution (Arhiv za pravne i društvene nauke), and it wasn't printed en masse since it was considered ideologically controversial. The number of copies printed is most probably 100 and likely under 50. There is a total of 7 surviving known copies besides this one. O Jevrejskom pitanju is a first Serbian translation of the famous Marx's work Jewish Question where he argues whether are the Jews and their capital is indeed a danger for society.
