SIGNED by the author on half-title page. Light rubbing to cover extremities. Clean and tight in an intact but torn wartime dust jacket--rear panel encourages American boys who "would like to join in the heroic action of the fighting forces, to share in their adventures, and to make a contribution to preserve the American way of living" to buy war bonds and stamps. Jacket is torn and creased at upper spine and adjoining portion of upper front panel, with about 1/2" missing at head of spine. Small chips and tears at corners and lower edge, but still clean and bright.
