A highly regarded and still important author who made significant contributions in the area of Liturgy. Canonized by John Paul II in 1986. Chapters on Gregory of Nazianzus, Vincent of Lerins, Cyprian, Basil, Epiphanius and Augustine. Latin and Greek text. Nicely bound in full vellum, with gilt lettering to spines. Mottled edges. Lovely devices to a number of pages. Minor wear to margins of a very small number of pages, with just a few spots to a small number of leaves. Minor creasing to upper corners of pages of volume 1 and a small number of same in volume 2. Light soiling to a few leaves. Several minor tears to endpapers. Mild foxing, though most leaves remain clear and bright. Some general light wear and a touch of soiling to vellum, with just a few very small worn areas to same. Binding sound.
