Paternoster-Row. London.: Longman, Brown, Green, and Longmans., 1847 VG+. 1847, illust, 1st ed. In c1900 half brown calf with red marbled boards, some blind tooling, a few marks, corners and edges rubbed and lightly bumped. Spine, decorative blind tooling, raised bands, titles in gilt to tan cal label, edges brushed. Internally, brown endpapers, no inscriptions, half title present, title page text in red and black inks, [7], (viii-xii), [1], 2-485 pp, numerous illustrations within text, printed by Spottiswoode and Shaw, New-street-Square, London, some light foxing to prelims. Eccleston was Head Master of the Sutton Coldfield Grammar School, but was so embroiled in debt that in order to avoid prison he departed in 1849 for Tasmania..
