Fine/very good. 8vo., original black cloth, 286 pp., frontispiece of Dr. Sanford Alexander Moss (1872-1946), Pioneer of Gas-Turbine development. Photo illustrations, drawings, charts, two fold-out charts at the rear, index. Dust jacket has light edge wear. -- Early printing; 1948 is the only date on the copyright page with Harper & Brothers code i-x. There is no statement of edition on the copyright page. The text owes it origin to lectures given by the senior author under the ESMWT program during World War II. - preface.
