New York: Hugo Gernsbacks Experimenter Publishing Company Inc , 1928. First printing. Paperback. Very Good +/no dust jacket. The First Edition has the very rare H.G. Wells The Invisible Man for sale. The Invisible Man is serialised in June 1928 and July 1928 issues of Amazing Stories magazine. The Amazing Stories June 1928 issue front cover has a wonderful futuristic front cover believed to be taken from The Invisible Man. The covers for the June 1928 issue are in superb condition with a very feint retailers rubber stamp to the front cover which is barely noticeable and does not detract from the futuristic colour illustration, slight wear to the spine, and only light marks to the back cover. The Amazing Stories June 1928 issue pages are numbered 193 through to 286 which are in Very Good condition with age toning throughout; and a closed tear to the top margin of pages 269/270 and 271/272 which is expected for the quality of paper used and the age of this magazine. The Amazing Stories July 1928 issue front cover has a great colour futuristic illustration. The covers for the July 1928 issue of Amazing Stories magazine are also in superb condition with a retailers rubber stamp to the front cover which does not detract from the futuristic colour illustration, a small corner crease to the bottom right corner of the front cover, slight wear to the spine, and with marks to the back cover. The Amazing Stories July 1928 issue pages are numbered 289 through to 384 which are in Very Good condition with age toning throughout; and very small loss of paper to the top margin of page 322 (the start of The Invisible Man) with no loss of text and really quite small (only mentioned for completeness) which is expected for the quality of paper used and the age of this magazine.

Pencil notes of prior book seller on title page, no other markings, creases or interior problems. Bound in quality laid paper wraps. A very nice copy. The paper is wonderful example of the paper making trade in 1780's London. Content is scathing satire and complaints about, among other things, the loss of the colonies. A nice copy. Please see scans of the item you will receive. Notes: This title may be found in the libraries of Thomas Jefferson & Benjamin Franklin. More Notes: This is how most books came from the printer and it was up to the buyer to decide on further binding. This appears to have never been bound.

The Mutual Orange Distributors (MOD) was founded in Redlands, California, in 1906 as a cooperative marketing association representing citrus growers in California. Within a few years, the coop included citrus growers in western Arizona. In 1955, MOD changed its name to Pure Gold, originally the brand name for fruit grown by the approximately 2,500 MOD growers. Sunkist took over the Pure Gold trademark when the co-op closed in 1987 due to housing developments replacing the citrus fields and the shrinking number of packing plants. This booklet explains the history of the citrus-growing culture in California and Arizona and provides information on the variety of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit grown and their cultivation and packaging. A map on the back shows the regions represented by the Pure Gold cooperative. Scarce, none located in OCLC. B&w illustrations and halftone photographs. (11"x8-1/2")
