Uniformly bound in Contemporary 3/4 Calf with Thick Cloth Boards. Six Compartmented Spines with Tooled, Gilt Decorated Raised Bands. Gold Gilt Title, Author, Volume Number, Date, with Additional Tooled Gilt Designs Within. Bindings show extremity rubbing with wear to Volume One's top compartment, head cap wear to both volumes. Quite old repair to Volume One top front joint extremity. Sewn Bindings extremely tight. Top Edge Gilt (T.e.g.) very bright, with Hand Marbled Ends. Collated Complete, bound with half-titles, Engraved Titles, and additional secondary titles as called for. Internally some light spotting to Vol. II., otherwise both Volumes, bright, clean and Unmarked.. First Thus. Half-Leather/Cloth/Sewn. Very Good. Illus. by Engraved Titles, w/ Tissue Guards. Drawn by J Stewart, Engraved by W. H. Lizars. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
